Consider the humble chicken egg. What would we do without this versatile food? Without eggs, recipes for quiche, meringue, and soufflés would be impossible. An essential ingredient in so many of the dishes that turn up on our tables, eggs enrich cakes and cookies, breads, pasta, and ice cream, to name a few.
